What does it cost?
Sessions are billed by the hour, individually or from a prepaid pack, and how many your student needs depends on where they start and where they are aiming. So you see the plan and the total in writing before anything is scheduled. The first call is free, and so is the diagnostic that follows it. The payment terms are in the
terms.
Why one tutor instead of a company?
Every session is with me. The person who reads your student’s data is the person who teaches them, every week. There are no handoffs to junior tutors and no rotating staff.
Online or in person?
Online, or in person at the Cranford Public Library. Same sessions, same materials, same portal, and many families mix the two.
When should we start?
Ideally three to four months before the test. Juniors usually start once PSAT scores come back, aiming for a March or May SAT. After the diagnostic I’ll give you a realistic timeline for your student.
Does the PSAT matter for National Merit?
For strong sophomores and juniors, yes. National Merit eligibility comes from the junior-year PSAT, and New Jersey’s cutoff is one of the highest in the country, so a student near it should prepare for the October PSAT as seriously as for the SAT.
How will I know it’s working?
You get an update after every session: what we worked on, how the practice went, and any new score. Every practice test lands in the portal with the same full report as the diagnostic.
